What Did I Do?

As a motion designer on the Black Future Makers Experience Installation, I helped translate artist Temi Coker’s visual language into motion for a large-scale, multi-channel campaign. The project centered on celebrating 28 Black Future Makers through portrait-based animations that honored the original artwork while bringing it to life through movement.

My role focused on animating these portraits into 60-second digital wallpapers designed to live across a wide range of formats — from expansive video walls to immersive cylindrical columns. Each animation was carefully crafted to preserve the integrity of the fine art while introducing motion that felt intentional, rhythmic, and celebratory. The challenge was to enhance the artwork without overpowering it, allowing motion to serve as a respectful extension of the artist’s vision.

Working under the creative direction of Twentyfour7 Agency, the team ensured that the motion system could scale seamlessly across physical installations, digital placements, broadcast, and social media. This adaptability allowed the campaign to maintain consistency and emotional impact across every environment in which it appeared.

Motion can honor fine art while expanding its presence across space, scale, and experience.

The Black Future Makers Experience Installation delivered a powerful, visually immersive campaign that celebrated Black excellence across physical and digital spaces. The animated portraits transformed retail environments into moments of reflection and celebration, inviting audiences to engage with the stories and identities of the featured individuals.

By scaling motion content across formats — from large video walls to architectural displays — the campaign maintained visual cohesion while adapting to each unique environment. This flexibility allowed AT&T to extend the experience beyond in-store installations into broadcast, digital, and social platforms, amplifying its reach and cultural impact.

Ultimately, the project demonstrated how motion design can elevate fine art into a living, experiential medium. The collaboration resulted in a campaign that was both visually striking and culturally resonant, reinforcing AT&T’s commitment to storytelling, representation, and meaningful brand engagement.
