2022 - 2024 Internal Branding Update
Evolving a Scalable Visual & Motion System for Digital Marketing

Overview

During my tenure as a staff designer at RSIR, I was responsible for evolving the internal design system used across digital marketing channels. The objective was to modernize how the brand showed up in fast‑moving digital environments—particularly social media—while maintaining consistency with Sotheby’s International Realty’s established global identity.

The challenge was not to reinvent the brand, but to improve clarity, flexibility, and engagement within an existing system so it could better support both internal teams and external audiences.

What Did I Do?

I focused on refining the visual system used across RSIR’s digital campaigns, with particular attention to layout structure, typographic hierarchy, and repeatable design patterns. These updates were designed to make content easier to scan, more visually distinct in crowded feeds, and more adaptable across formats—without deviating from the global brand framework.

Beyond static design improvements, I played a key role in introducing motion as a first‑class component of the system. Working closely with the Brand Manager, I developed a motion language that complemented the updated visual framework and could be applied consistently across campaigns. Motion was used intentionally to reinforce hierarchy, guide attention, and support storytelling rather than act as purely decorative animation.

Throughout the project, decisions were shaped by the need to balance brand consistency with usability. The system needed to feel premium and recognizable while remaining practical for ongoing use by internal marketing teams producing content at scale.

The Result

The updated design system provided RSIR with a more flexible and modern foundation for digital marketing. Campaigns became more visually cohesive and engaging while remaining aligned with Sotheby’s International Realty’s global brand standards.

The introduction of a motion framework proved especially impactful, enabling RSIR to create animated assets for social media, campaigns, and digital outreach that felt intentional and consistent rather than one‑off. This improved the clarity and effectiveness of content across platforms while giving the brand a more dynamic presence.

Ultimately, the project resulted in a scalable, system‑driven approach that supported both external engagement and internal efficiency. The updated framework extended beyond a single campaign cycle, giving RSIR a durable foundation for future digital storytelling and brand communication.
